Gaetano Chiocchi
Gaetano Chiocchi (1814 – c. 1881)
Gaetano Chiocchi established himself as a violin-maker in Padua, where he lived for most of his life. In addition to being an accomplished violinist and luthier, Chiocchi served as the music director for the Ballet Theatre.
His body of work is small, but shows care of execution and beautiful varnish. Classical Cremonese and Brescian models are most common, especially Stradivari and a double-purfled large Maggini pattern.
This great sounding instrument comes with a certificate from Florian Leonhard in London.
